A profile field and a search filter are different
When an app lets people state their height, that field tells you something on a profile. It does not mean you can tell the app to hide everyone outside a range. A search filter changes which profiles appear; a preference may only influence recommendation order; a strict setting can exclude profiles. These are three different jobs. This distinction matters most for Tinder and Match, where a documented profile field or preference should not be turned into a claim that a paid height filter is available on a specific tier.

It does not prove that no account will ever show the feature. Apps run tests and change offers. If you need a specific height range rather than a broad suggestion, inspect the setting inside your account and confirm whether it is strict before paying.
Hinge gives a clear height-tier answer
Hinge's official preference list puts height with the subscriber controls, available to Hinge+ and HingeX. Both tiers also include paid preferences for dating intentions, children, family plans, education, politics, and lifestyle fields. Free controls include age, maximum distance, gender, ethnicity, religion, and relationship type. Paid access does not by itself decide whether a preference stays strict. Hinge's current help says checking 'Show profiles outside of this preference' makes that preference flexible. Gender remains strict by default.
If height is the only paid control you need, Hinge+ is the first tier in the published list that includes it. HingeX adds ordering and visibility features, not a more precise height filter. First set free age and distance controls to a range you would genuinely consider; Hinge's location setting is a separate control. Then check the subscriber screen for height and whether 'Show profiles outside of this preference' matches your intent. The local list may become smaller when several strict preferences are combined. That smaller list is a product behavior to understand, not a measure of how many compatible people live near you.
Bumble places height in Premium
Bumble's current support puts Advanced Filters under Premium, including height. Its basic filters include age, distance where supported, verification, languages, and interests. In the United States and Canada, Bumble also documents a basic ethnicity preference. These controls differ by country, and the account screen is the final check for a particular location. The support page says you can use an advanced filter only if you added that information to your own profile, so a missing profile field can make a paid control unavailable to you.
Bumble also lets people choose whether to see others after the selected group runs out. A list that broadens after you reach the end may look like the filter failed when the setting actually allowed expansion. Check that option and read the results in that light. Premium's Liked You list can thin when Advanced Filters are applied, too. If height is a firm preference, confirm the filter is selected and inspect how it handles an empty result. If it is only a preference, leave room for the app to show other profiles.
Tinder shows height without a confirmed filter
Tinder's Discovery help describes age, distance, and orientation controls. The reviewed help does not establish a height filter you can buy. A height value on a person's profile therefore should not be mistaken for a Discovery control. Tinder also says its age and distance settings may show people slightly outside the range when you run out of recommendations, unless the available dealbreaker toggles prevent it. If you see an outside-range profile, inspect those toggles rather than assuming a paid tier is required.
This is a useful place to keep the question narrow. If your need is age or distance, Tinder documents settings for those. If your need is a strict height range, the published help here does not give a supported Tinder tier to recommend. Do not buy Gold or Platinum on the assumption that a profile field becomes a filter. Check the current Discovery settings in your own account if a provider changes the product later.
eharmony and Match need an offer check
eharmony's search-settings tour lists height, along with income, family, education, faith, and location. Its membership page places changes to search settings under Premium access, while warning that packages can vary. That supports saying a height setting exists and that you should check the offered Premium package. It does not support a universal price or a claim that every package has the same search scope. A field such as income also depends on what people choose to report, so a filter result is not an independently verified fact about someone.
Match documents custom search and height preferences, but the reviewed help does not place every preference on a single minimum paid tier. Its recommendations can also include people outside stated preferences. If Match is your preferred service, open the live plan and settings screens and confirm the exact height control before purchase. A general paid-search label is not enough for a claim about a specific tier. The table keeps that uncertainty visible instead of inventing a clean row.
A short filter test that respects your preferences
Choose one setting that matters to you. Write down whether you need it to be strict or merely to guide the order of profiles. On a free account, check the ordinary age and distance controls first and look at the actual local list. Then inspect whether your chosen paid field appears in the tier and country offered to your account. If you consider several settings, add them one at a time in a temporary comparison so you can see which setting changes the visible group. Restore your intended limits when the check ends.
For example, someone who wants a strict distance limit and a flexible height preference needs two different behaviors. A provider may offer a strict distance toggle for free and a paid height preference. Paying for height would not make distance strict automatically. The opposite person might value height as a firm boundary and accept a wider distance. The published table can identify candidate apps; the live settings determine whether either combination is possible. There is no sound way to infer a relationship outcome from a feature list alone.
What the population calculator can and cannot add
The site's calculator estimates a population under selected demographic conditions. It does not count active profiles on Hinge, Bumble, Tinder, eharmony, or Match, and it does not measure who would like you back. You can use it to see how stacking criteria changes an estimate, then return to the app to inspect the actual profiles and controls available to you. The two sources answer different questions. Before paying, keep a one-line record of the app, country, plan, exact filter, strictness setting, full price, and renewal date. If any field is unknown, the provider's current help and checkout screen should resolve it. A filter purchase is easier to judge when its job is specific: less time reviewing profiles outside a stated preference. It cannot guarantee compatibility with the profiles that remain.
