Cancel Hinge through the service that charged you: Apple, Google Play, or Hinge's direct payment system. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription, and Hinge tells subscribers to cancel at least 24 hours before renewal.

If renewal is close, start with the receipt and the matching cancellation path below. Other plans can wait until you have confirmed that the current one will not renew.
Find who billed you
The receipt tells you more than the phone in your hand. You might use an iPhone but have paid Hinge directly, or you might now use Android and still have a purchase tied to an Apple Account.
The table may be wider than the screen. Focus it and use the arrow keys to reach every column.
| What the receipt shows | Start here |
|---|---|
| Apple purchase | Apple subscriptions |
| Google Play purchase | Google Play subscriptions |
| Hinge payment, powered by Stripe | Hinge Account Settings or its official cancellation link |
| No clear provider | Check the receipt and charge details before choosing a path |
For an Apple purchase, search your email for an Apple receipt and check the account named on it. If there is no Apple receipt, look at the bank or card charge to see who billed you. Apple's receipt checks
Write down the plan, the purchase date, and the next renewal date if one is shown. Keep the receipt private: you may need its order number for support, and nobody else needs your billing details.
Cancel through Apple
On an iPhone:
- Open Settings.
- Select your name.
- Open Subscriptions.
- Select Hinge.
- Select Cancel Subscription.
On the subscription detail screen, Apple says a missing Cancel button or a red expiration message means the plan is already canceled. If Hinge does not appear at all, check the account on the receipt, because that is a different situation. Apple's cancellation instructions
If you no longer have the iPhone, Apple's guide also provides a web cancellation route. Use the Apple Account that made the purchase, and if the receipt belongs to a family member's account, that person needs to cancel it.
Before closing the page, write down the end date. What you want to leave with is a subscription record showing that renewal has stopped; a successful login or a visit to the settings screen does not show that.
Cancel through Google Play
- Open Google Play subscriptions.
- Sign in to the Google Account used for the purchase.
- Select Hinge.
- Select Cancel subscription.
- Complete the remaining prompts.
If the plan is missing, check whether you used another Google Account. Google says ordinary canceled subscriptions stay available for the time already paid for. A payment plan with committed future installments has different rules, and stopping renewal leaves those payments in place. Google Play's cancellation guide
Use the subscription record to see which arrangement you bought. Do not assume that a monthly price shown in an offer means a month-to-month commitment.
A plan described by its monthly amount, for example, could have a longer billing period. The purchase receipt and the full charge show what you actually agreed to, so read them before deciding whether the amount on a statement is wrong.
Cancel a direct Hinge payment
For a purchase through Hinge payment, powered by Stripe:
- Open Hinge.
- Open Account Settings with the gear icon.
- Select Cancel Subscription and finish the prompts.
If you no longer have the app, use the cancellation link in Hinge's official guide. Enter the email that receives subscription messages, which may differ from the email you use to log in to Hinge.
If you have several email addresses, search for the purchase message first. Avoid guessing at the billing login or buying another plan to regain access. Keep the original receipt open while you follow the cancellation link.
If the link or account screen fails, use the support route in that guide. Include the date, the order reference, and the step that failed, and keep passwords and sign-in codes out of the message.
Confirm that cancellation worked
Go back to the plan's subscription record. Check the status and any end date, then save the confirmation.
A cancellation note we suggest keeping contains:
- The service that billed you.
- The plan you canceled.
- The date you completed cancellation.
- The end date shown afterward.
- A saved confirmation or screenshot.
The note takes little space and gives you a clear record if another charge appears. For example, “Google Play, HingeX, canceled September 11, access ends September 28” would be a good note if those were the dates on your account. The dates in it are made up and do not describe any real billing schedule.
If you see a renewal offer afterward, read the button before selecting it. An invitation to subscribe again gives you no reason to restart the plan, so check the existing record before making another purchase.
What if Hinge still charges you?
Set the new charge beside the saved record before deciding what happened. Check these details:
- Is it a completed charge or only a pending entry?
- Which company processed it?
- Which account and order does it belong to?
- Was cancellation completed before the renewal deadline?
- Does the amount relate to the same plan?
Then contact the billing provider with both records, the charge and the cancellation confirmation, and ask it to explain the charge and review any refund request.
Wait for the provider to confirm a refund before you describe the charge as refunded. A support request on its own does not show that renewal has stopped either, so if the subscription still shows renewal enabled, finish cancellation separately.
Cancellation, refunds, and account deletion are different
Cancellation stops future renewal. A refund asks for money back. Account deletion removes the Hinge account.
For Apple and Google Play purchases, account deletion does not cancel billing. For direct Hinge payments, account deletion cancels the subscription immediately and removes access to its remaining benefits. Hinge's account-deletion rules
For a billing-only change, cancel the plan and keep the account. You do not need to make a permanent account decision while solving a payment problem.
Hinge routes Apple refund requests to Apple and Google Play requests to Google. For a direct Hinge subscription bought in the last 14 days, its guide directs you to Hinge support, and the guide also lists location-specific rules and deadlines. Eligibility is not automatic. Hinge's refund guide
In your request, name both outcomes you want. For example: “I want to stop future renewal. I also want you to review the charge dated September 10.” Swap in the facts from your own account.
If you later want to pay for Hinge again, compare Hinge+ and HingeX, and use the dating budget calculator to include the full subscription cost in your spending plan.
