Tinder lets you enter a contact manually in Block Contacts instead of sharing your address book. The block depends on the person using matching contact details, so it cannot guarantee that you will never see each other.

Add one contact manually
Open your profile, then Settings and Block Contacts. Use the plus button, enter the contact details, and confirm with Done. Tinder’s Block Contacts guide also describes selecting people after allowing address-book access.
Use details you already have a legitimate reason to hold. You do not need to search for someone’s private information to follow these instructions. Decide which sharing option you are comfortable with before granting access.
What the contact match can miss
Tinder says blocked contacts receive no notification. Adding a contact does not tell you whether that person has an account, and it leaves existing matches and messages unchanged. A different signup email or phone number can prevent the block from matching them.
For example, if you have an old number, you cannot use the absence of a profile as proof that the person is absent from Tinder. The setting offers a practical filter, but the company’s stated identifier limit still applies.
Disconnecting and unblocking are separate
Use the Blocked tab to unblock selected contacts. Disconnect Contact List stops contact-list sharing while keeping existing blocks. Tinder says it retains the blocked contacts’ names, emails or phone numbers for the feature after you leave it.
Choose the outcome you want first: stop sharing your address book, remove a particular block, or leave existing blocks in place. These are different privacy choices, even though they sit near each other in Settings.
When you already see the profile
Tinder documents a separate Block Profile control at the bottom of a profile. Where available, it is permanent and cannot be reversed. Its help page still describes a limited test, so do not assume every account has it.
If the goal is to leave Tinder entirely, use our account-deletion guide. If you need to report harmful behavior, use the app’s reporting route rather than treating contact blocking as a report.
