How to delete your Bumble account

Follow Bumble's current account-deletion steps. Check subscription billing, request data, and understand the 28-day recovery period first.

To delete your Bumble account, open the app, tap your profile icon, open Settings with the gear icon, scroll to Delete account, choose a reason, and confirm the final prompt. Cancel any subscription through its billing provider and request any data you want to keep before you delete. Removing the app from your phone does not remove your Bumble profile.

Decide whether you want a break or a closed account

A week away from dating and the end of an account are different decisions. Bumble's Snooze Mode hides your profile from new matches while leaving your profile information and existing chats in place. You can choose 24 hours, 72 hours, a week, or indefinitely, then switch it off when you return. Bumble says matches without active chats can still expire during Snooze. If you need those conversations, read that limit before choosing a break.

Deleting the account removes your profile from view. Bumble says its Support team may restore an accidentally deleted account for up to 28 days; after that period, it begins removing personal information under its policies. If your plan is to return to the same profile, the Bumble Snooze guide explains the reversible control in more detail.

Use the decision table below to pick the result you need. It separates the profile, the payment, and the information you may want to keep. One tap cannot complete all three tasks. In particular, deleting a profile does not tell Apple, Google Play, or another payment provider to stop a subscription renewal.

Which Bumble action fits your goal?

The table may be wider than the screen. Focus it and use the arrow keys to reach every column.

Use this table to choose the control. Billing and data requests can be needed alongside profile actions.

How to use it Choose the row for each goal you have. A person who wants to leave a paid account may need three rows: request data, cancel renewal, then delete.

Request any account data before deletion

If you want a copy of account information, start while you can still identify the account. Bumble's data-request instructions direct you to contact chat support and say that you want to “Request data.” This is a subject access request. Bumble says it aims to provide the data within one calendar month, although local rules may set a shorter time and many requests finish sooner. Allow time for that response instead of assuming an immediate download.

A conversation has two participants. Bumble says each person must submit a separate request to get their own side of a conversation. Your request is not a way to obtain the other person's private account data. If a specific exchange matters to you, describe what you seek when you contact support, then check what the response actually contains. A request being submitted does not mean a copy is already in your possession.

Wait until you receive and save the material you need before deleting, when waiting is practical for you. Keep the copy in a private location because it may contain messages or personal details. If you have already deleted your account, contact Bumble Support about data access instead of assuming the account screen can still provide it. The help page does not promise that every requested item will be available in every case.

Cancel renewal through the service that billed you

Bumble warns that account deletion may leave a paid subscription active. Its subscription page explicitly says an Apple App Store subscription does not cancel when you delete the account. Find the original payment route and next renewal date before you delete, especially if you have changed phones since signing up. Check the store or purchase receipt when the billing route is unclear.

For an Apple App Store subscription, open iPhone Settings, tap your name, open Subscriptions, choose Bumble, and tap Cancel Subscription. For Google Play, open the Play Store, tap your profile icon, choose Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions, select Bumble, and cancel. For a PayPal, card, or Apple Pay purchase managed through Bumble, open the Bumble app, tap your profile icon, choose Subscription details, then Manage your subscription, and cancel. These paths come from Bumble's current cancellation page.

Read the confirmation and retain a record of the cancellation and renewal date. Bumble says subscriptions renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Cancel early enough to meet that rule; if renewal is close, check the result with the payment provider instead of assuming the next charge was stopped. Bumble says paid access normally lasts until the purchased period ends, and a refund is a separate request. If you cannot get into Bumble to manage a direct purchase, contact Support. If you used a store, check that store's subscription page first.

Delete the account in the Bumble app

Once you have handled wanted data and renewal, sign in to the account you mean to close. Bumble's deletion instructions, updated September 10, 2026, give the same route for iOS and Android: open Bumble, tap the profile icon, tap the gear icon for Settings, scroll to the bottom, and tap Delete account. Choose your reason for leaving and follow the final on-screen prompt to confirm. Stop and read that prompt before the last action.

Make sure you are signed in to the intended account before you confirm. Someone with an old account under another sign-in method may have more than one profile or payment record to resolve. Bumble does not say that signing out or uninstalling the app deletes a profile. Removing the app only removes local access from that phone. Check the profile in the app while you still have access instead of relying on the phone's home screen as a deletion receipt.

Bumble's current account-deletion page lists the app route. It does not give a current web deletion procedure, so these steps do not assume that a website menu has the same control. If the app will not open or the Delete account action fails, use the Support link on the official deletion page. Bumble says its team can help with deletion after verifying that you own the account.

Understand the 28-day recovery and data limits

Bumble says a deleted account is no longer viewable in the app. During the next 28 days, its Support team may restore an account that was deleted by accident. Contact Support promptly if that is what happened, and give enough account details for its ownership check. Do not make a replacement account solely to test whether the deleted profile remains visible. The published help describes a possible restoration through Support, not a self-service Undo button.

After the 28-day period, Bumble says it begins removing personal information under its privacy policy. Its data-deletion page says the profile can no longer be recovered after that period. Beginning removal is different from promising that every stored record disappears at one exact time. The same page says Bumble may retain basic information to enforce a block and data needed for legal or regulatory reasons.

If you want to skip the 28-day restoration period, Bumble offers a separate Data Erasure Request to its team. It says that process can take up to 30 days. Requesting erasure, deleting the profile, and canceling renewal address different records and systems. Choose the extra request only if it matches your privacy goal, and use Bumble's official route for the request. The article cannot verify completion of a private account action for you.

A complete example before you leave

Consider a hypothetical reader who bought Bumble Premium through the Apple App Store, wants a copy of their account information, and plans to stop using Bumble. They first contact Bumble chat support with a data request and wait for the material they want. They check the Apple subscription's renewal date, then open iPhone Settings, select their name, open Subscriptions, select Bumble, and cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. They keep the store confirmation. Only after those separate tasks do they open Bumble Settings and finish Delete account.

The order matters. If this reader deleted first, the Apple subscription might still renew and the data request could become harder to manage. If fewer than 24 hours remain before renewal, they check Apple's billing result and address a charge or refund through the appropriate payment route. The exact billing date and data response depend on that account, so the example supplies no invented charge or download result. The decision table shows how the plan changes for a Google Play or Bumble-managed subscription.

Another reader may only want to stop meeting new people for a month. Snooze Mode fits that goal better because it can be reversed without asking Support to recover a deleted account. That reader must still check subscription renewal separately if they also want payments to stop. Start with the result you need, then complete and verify each matching action.
