READ THE RESULT

Only the state changes.

Census data covers age, income, education, sex, and marital status for each state. Separate CDC data estimates height and BMI. The height and BMI estimates are the same for every state.

“1 in N” means about one person in every N people in the selected age group meets all the filters. The estimate uses the same Census group and age range in each state.

Does a larger state automatically have a higher estimated share?

No. We compare the estimated percentage of men or women ages 25–35 who meet all the filters. Estimated people give context. They do not decide the order.
