What we found.
We cannot confirm this claim. We found no study that tested a group meant to represent the full population. People also use the claim for different things, such as ratings, likes, messages, and matches. Those are not the same measure.

These words may sound alike, but they count different groups. Do not compare their numbers as if they came from the same group.

- That 80% of women share one attraction distribution.
- That a platform rating pattern represents offline relationships or the whole population.
- Who is chosen, matched, or likely to form a relationship.
- A causal explanation for gender, app, or relationship outcomes.
Platform behavior must stay platform-specific
A peer-reviewed study can describe decisions on one dating platform. It cannot establish a universal population ratio. Keep the sample, time period, measure, and platform attached to the result.
The pool estimate does not convert into a desirability ranking.
The calculator reports population shares for selected measurable filters. It does not estimate attractiveness, desirability, compatibility, or probability of being chosen.
